“Do I Have That Book?” Challenge

Mae g’ovannen, friends! I have a fun post for you guys today. πŸ™‚

I saw this tag on Jenna Terese’s blog, and she left an open invitation for anyone to do it. So I decided to do it! It looks super fun! For some of these questions, I have more than one book that could be an answer, but I’ll try to stick with one. πŸ˜‰

Here are the rules!

1. Time yourself trying to find each prompt on your shelf
2. Try and beat the time of the person who challenged you.

3. Don’t forget to tag your challenger and the original creator.
I am not sure who the original creator was, but I did link to Jenna’s blog earlier in the post. πŸ™‚
4. Have fun! I sure will! πŸ™‚

And the questions:

1. Do you have a book with tattered edges?

I’m not sure if this means the book’s cover design or literally tattered edges. But I have both!

For a tattered design, I have On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness by Andrew Peterson. (Actually, this one has pretty tattered edges, too. Literally. πŸ˜‰ ) If you’ve read my “About” page or any of my other bookish posts, you’ll know that I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH. πŸ™‚

For literal tattered edges, I have The Door Within by Wayne Thomas Batson. Other than The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and The Chronicles of Narnia, this series was one of the first to make me really love fantasy. I highly recommend them. πŸ™‚

2. Do you have a book with 3+ people on the cover?

Yep! The Door Before by N.D. Wilson. There are exactly three people on the cover. πŸ™‚ This book is really, really good. It’s a great prequel to the 100 Cupboards series, and I’ve heard that it’s also a sort of prequel to the Ashtown Burials series (also by N.D. Wilson).

3. Do you have a book based on another fictional story?

I do! Till We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis is based off of a Greek myth.

I read this book for school earlier this year. It was a very interesting, thought-provoking book.

4. Do you have a book with a title 10 letters long?

Songkeeper by Gillian Bronte Adams. I just finished this book, and it is AMAZING. I love this series so much.

Songkeeper (The Songkeeper Chronicles Book 2) by [Adams, Gillian Bronte]

5. Do you have a book with a title that beings and ends with the same letter?

Indeed I do! I had a hard time thinking of one, but North! Or Be Eaten by Andrew Peterson starts and ends with the same letter.

6. Do you have a mass market paperback book?

Well, it’s not technically mine, but since my dad got nicer copies of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, I’ve had his mass market paperback copies of The Fellowship of the Ring and The Hobbit on my shelf. πŸ™‚

7. Do you have a book written by an author using a pen name?

Twinepathy by C.B. Cook. I haven’t read this book yet; I don’t have much experience with superheroes yet, but I am SO excited to read this book!! I’ve heard great things about it, and it looks wonderful!

Twinepathy (IDIA Book 1) by [Cook, C.B.]

8. Do you have a book with a character’s name on it?

Fawkes by Nadine Brandes. This book is SO beautiful, and I can’t wait to read it!!!

9. Do you have a book with two maps on it?

Does this question mean to say “on it” or “in it”? Because I’m pretty sure I don’t have a book with two maps on it. I don’t think that I have a book with two maps in it either, though…

10. Do you have a book that was turned into a TV show?

Can I say the same book twice?

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 513eFABbK8L._SX326_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg

This book was kind of turned into a TV show. The first part of this book is an animated short. Both the book and the short are AMAZING. πŸ˜€

11. Do you have a book written by someone who is originally famous for something else? (Celebrity/Athlete/Politician/TV Personality…)

The Monster in the Hollows by Andrew Peterson (the third book in The Wingfeather Saga). Guys, how many times can I say that I LOVE THE WINGFEATHER SAGA!!? πŸ˜€ Both the third book and the fourth book made me cry (and I have said that I do not often literally cry over books), and they are such beautiful, enthralling stories.

Andrew Peterson is originally famous (I guess it depends on how you view “famous”) for being a Christian singer/songwriter. I’ve recently started listening to a few of his songs, and I’m enjoying them quite a lot.

12. Do you have a book with a clock on the cover?

Yes, I do. πŸ™‚ That tower is a clock tower.

I’ve said it many times, but I’ll say it again: I LOVE Wayne Thomas Batson’s books. His The Door Within trilogy is amazing; his The Berinfell Prophecies (written with Christopher Hopper) are phenomenal, and his Dreamtreaders trilogy is so, so good. Dreamtreaders is definitely quite a different book than any I’ve read before, but I enjoyed the series so, so much. (I received these books for Christmas, and I think I read all three of them in three or four days πŸ˜‰ ).

13. Do you have a poetry book?

Uh…no. I do enjoy certain poetry, but I don’t have a poetry book that’s actually mine.

14. Do you have a book with an award stamp on it?

Yes! A Gathering of Days by Joan W. Blos. I read it for school a few years ago, and I loved it. Almost everyone else hated it. I do not understand that. XD

15. Do you have a book written by an author with the same initials as you?

No. That would be really cool, but I do not own any books authored by people with the same initials as me.

16. Do you have a book of short stories?

Yes! I have Wingfeather Tales.

I received this book one Christmas, along with The Wingfeather Saga, and I…still haven’t read it. I really want to read it soon, though! πŸ™‚

17. Do you have a book that is in between 500-510 pages?

My first thought was The Warden and the Wolf King, but that one is just a little over 510 pages. XD Let’s see…I’ll have to think about this one for a while…

Oh, wait, yes, yes I do!

Guyyyyysssss, The Berinfell Prophecies!!! After having this series recommended to me several times by some friends, I finally got to reading them. AND THEY ARE SO GOOD. The Tide of Unmaking ends up being just a tiny bit over 512 pages with all the acknowledgements and end pages and things, but the actual story part is 501 pages.

This book is so, so good. Such an amazing, breathtaking end to the series (and I’m still not over that ending…:) ). I also received this book for Christmas, and I may have read this 501-page book in only two days… ;).

18. Do you have a book that was turned into a movie?

Currently, I’m reading Jane Eyre for school, and it’s a really interesting read. I’m not very far in yet (only about 50 pages), but I think that I’ll end up enjoying it. I know that this book was made into a movie, but I haven’t seen the movie.

19. Do you have a graphic novel?

No. I don’t really read graphic novels. I’m not against them, I just haven’t read or seen any that have really caught my interest.

20. Do you have a book written by 2 or more authors?

SΓ. (I’m just trying to think of creative ways to say “yes,” and I’m studying Spanish in school this year XD). Do Hard Things by Alex and Brett Harris.

I’ve started this book several times, but I just haven’t finished it yet! (*sheepish face*). It’s really good, but I just haven’t been motivated enough to finish it. I need to read it soon, though!

And those are the questions! I loved this tag, and it was so much fun to write! (And it reminded me of all the books that I have yet to read…XD). I hope that you enjoyed it!

I tag…

Anyone who wants to participate in this tag!

I know, I know, I’m the worst at tagging people. But I want anyone who wants to do this super fun tag to be able to, and I don’t want to swamp the people I follow with tags. πŸ™‚ I hope that you, reader, decide to do it! Let me know in the comments with a link to your post if you do. πŸ™‚

Have you read any of these books? If so, what did you think? Are any of these on your TBR? Want to talk to me about how beautiful some of these covers are? πŸ˜‰ Let me know in the comments!

Plus the covers are epic. ❀ THE BERINFELL PROPHESIES THO. They're also epic!!! I cried so much, but it was such a good ending. I can read any of his books over and over again. Have you ever read his Isle of Swords series? I'm not entirely sure if that's what it's called, lol, but they're also super good. πŸ˜€

    • GIRL, NO WORRIES ABOUT FANGIRLING!!! πŸ˜€
Yes, I could TOTALLY reread Mr. Batson’s books over and over. They. Are. So. Good. And yes, those covers! ❀ I've heard many different names for the Isle of Swords series, too (Isle of Swords series, Pirate Adventures, The Isle Chronicles, etc.). I haven't read those yet, but they look really good. I hope to read them soon! I also want to read A Christian's Carol and the Myridian Constellation series.
YESSSS READ THE WINGFEATHER SAGA!!! Yep, same person! I love both his books and his music. πŸ™‚
      Ah, cool!

      • The Myridian Constellation is good too! I had to wait forever to read the last one because my bro didn’t have it and neither did any libraries near me, so I finally requested my library to get it. πŸ˜›
I’m gonna see if it’s available at the library!!! *literally cannot wait*

  2. A FEW THINGS.

    1. *ahem* Language geek here. WHAT LANGUAGE DID YOU START OUT WITH!? WHAT DOES IT MEAN!?

    2. Wingfeather Saga is that good, eh… X’D

    3. JANE EYRE HAS A MOVIE!? O.O I _love_ that book. One of my favorite classics because of how deep the character is and it’s great parallel to Scripture. I admire Charlotte BrontΓ« very much. I bet my mom would love to watch the movie with me. XP

    4. Do Hard Things was a very important book for me personally, I’d highly recommend it.

    5. This was a neat… Whatever it’s called. XD
