Hey, look at this blog that hasn’t been active for months and months! I wonder whose it is?
*shyly waves* Hey, friends. It’s been too long.
After hitting the publish button for my last post (which was…in September…), I fully intended to get back into blogging. But my heart has been weary the last year with everything that has happened, and I honestly haven’t felt like sharing anything that comes into my head. This unplanned, spontaneous hiatus has been really good for me, and I’ve been able to spend some time reading books, hanging out with my family, and praying and reading God’s Word. I’ve grown a lot in my faith the past year, and every day I cling to my Father, who knows everything that is happening and everything that will happen. The One who upholds the universe with the word of his power. The One who knows what is best for us and who is working all of these terrible events for his plan and the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose.
This time, I do fully intend to get back into blogging regularly. I really have missed interacting with my blogging friends and clacking the keys to fill a blank page with my thoughts. But here and there I may have to step away from blogging for a bit to refresh my tank and pray about what I should write here.
So there’s my quick life update! I pray that you are all well.
Today I bring to you something SUPER EXCITING! (I’m sure that you haven’t yet guessed what it is. The title of this post is very mysterious…)
The second book in Kara Swanson’s Heirs of Neverland duology is releasing this July with Enclave Publishing, and I’m honored to be able to help share the absolutely gorgeous cover for the book, Shadow! The first book, Dust, which is a Peter Pan retelling/sequel, was incredible. Kara is an amazing author, and she wove a beautiful tale full of danger, grace, and beauty. If you have not read Dust yet, go! Go read it! Even if you aren’t a huge Peter Pan fan, give it a try. I bet you’ll like it.
So, after that teaser…
Eeeee, isn’t it lovely? Kirk DouPonce always does the most amazing and beautiful covers. Look at all the hints of Neverland scattered throughout the picture! Skull Rock. The pirate ship. The forest. The second star to the right. The pixie dust shimmering around the title word.
And look! Look!
Aren’t those two book so gorgeous hanging out together? I love looking at my hardcover edition of Dust, and I can’t wait until I can slide Shadow onto my bookshelf next to it!
Now…are you ready for the blurb? (Mild spoiler warning for those of you who have not yet read Dust!)
Peter Pan has crash-landed back on Neverland. But this is not the island he remembers.
Desperate to rescue Claire and the fractured Lost Boys, Peter must unravel what truly tore his dreamland apart. But with each step, he is haunted by more of his own broken memories. Not even Pan himself is what he seems.
Claire Kenton is chained to a pirate ship, watching the wreckage of Neverland rocked by tempests. When she finally finds her brother, Connor is every bit as shattered as the island. Claire may have pixie dust flowing in her veins—but the light of Neverland is flickering dangerously close to going out forever.
To rescue Neverland from the inescapable shadow, the boy who never grew up and the girl who grew up too fast will have to sacrifice the only thing they have left: each other.Blurb for Shadow
